We had two wonderful stays at Anchorage. It is a clean, affordable with wonderful staff.

The Anchorage Inn and Cottages was lovely. We first stayed in July. We had rented through VRBO a home in a neighboring town. The home turned out to be dirty and we could not stay. My husband has health issues and he could not stay in a home with horrible air quality and dirt. We found the Anchorage had availability for us, our family and our family dog. The rooms were spotless. Staff was amazing. They were sympathetic to our situation and they saved our vacation. We stayed one night in late September while visiting our daughter at UNH in Durham, NH. Anchorage will be our new go to place when we visit this area of NH and Maine. The only thing they may want to add are some umbrellas near the grilling area. In July we grilled one afternoon and the shaded areas to sit and eat were filled. The benches near the grill had full sun. Otherwise the place in perfect.

The location was good close to everything. Pet friendly. The grounds were very well maintained. The cottage was run down , needed a power wash, and paint was chipping. The inside needed a new paint job scuff marks and chipped paint on the trim. Cleaning is all about the details of every nook and cranny. Behind the door in the bathroom, the actual doors needed to be cleaned. Walls needed to be cleaned. The carpet should be ripped up, and new flooring put down. It's easier to keep clean between guests and more sanitary. One of the beds needs a new mattress it was horrible to try and sleep on.

New owners who were very pleasant and wanted to be sure our room and the property met expectations. The property was clean and it looked like new bedding and paint. Beds were very comfortable. We traveled with our dog so had a pet friendly room, but you could not tell a pet had ever been in there. They also provided bags all around the property if needed to pick up poop and there was plenty of grass to walk. Nice soap, shampoo and lotion provided. Really great room for the price! The bathroom sink could have had some counter space, but that was a minor inconvenience.

It’s certainly real. Clean. Comfortable beds. Clean carpeting. Linens and pillows were great. Plenty of towels. Great shower. The pool was either being repaired or fixed in some manner and that blow drying sound was going leaving now for all the days we stayed at the property. We couldn’t stay outside on the terrasse for long. If I stayed again I’d ask for a room far from highway one and the pool Off because I did say away from noise and then was in the first few doors on highway one. Also the ice machine didn’t work. Does it work ?

Well maintained and relaxing stay

Clean place and well maintained. The room itself was nice and the bed was comfortable, Good location, near main restaurants. Peaceful and quiet in the evening, which makes for a relaxing vacation. A dehumidifier was needed in addition to the air conditioning to make the air comfortable. It was very noisy. Also, we were not allowed to plug a toaster to make our own breakfast in the morning. The clerk said that the electricity circuits could not handle the load.

You couldn't beat the price for the location. We booked the Inn couple hours before we arrived! The hotel staff was friendly and helpful! They are pet friendly with a $35 pet fee, which was incredible! They have dog waste stations around the property!The room and property was clean and pleasant! Honestly the hotel shower was incredible! We were so surprised! The bathroom was a little musty smelling but nothing bad at all. It still felt clean.

A nice hotel in a wonderful area

The room was big and quiet and the bed was comfortable.The reception was very nice and we felt comfortable.It was easy to reach and had sufficient parking spaces.There were few restaurants nearby and you had to take the car.In Ognunquit, which is close, there was a great selection. Since the season had already been over, some restaurants were already for what the hotel couldn't do for.

Great bang for your book. Seems like they redid the property. New owners, nice clean room, executive beds are very comfortable and staff was very nice. I will be back. Thank you very much. Also pet friendly. They also have little doggy bags and a trash pail over there where you can walk your dog. There is nothing I didn’t like about anchor in and cottages

Close to everything! Sheets and towels were crisp and clean! Silverware was just thrown on a shelf. Not in some sort of silverware caddy. Bathroom and kitchen were not as I expected. Very very small. Bathroom was so small I could wash my hands , while sitting on the toilet. Not one closet or place to hang anything…..

It was very cute and close to town and the beach The room smelled musty and a mildew smell. Came back from being out and our chairs and small table was being used by the guest in the room next to us. Didn't want to cause a scene so just went into our room instead of sitting outside as it was nice out still.

The best thing is the value. We were able to get a room at the last minute for a very reasonable price. The amenities, the shower, the bed and pillows, the coffee maker, refrigerator, microwave were what you would expect at a much more expensive place.

So quaint. Adorable cottages on property. Didn’t stay in one but maybe next time. Close to eating places. Somewhat musty odor. Probably because close to beac and a lot of moisture. Did not keep us from enjoying.
