How many tennis racquets should I have? ›

Amateur players usually carry at least 2 rackets, preferably 3 or 4, all strung up. This way, they don't have to restring their rackets for a month or two.

In order to submit a cancellation request, please email our customer service team and include "cancel" as your email heading. Should you have two of the same rackets? ›

The two racquets should be of the same characteristics (frame, sting, tension, grip), but the returning racquet will be a little heavier than the service racquet. The difference in weight between the two racquets should be so small that the player cannot feel this difference.

This two-year rule applies to club players who play two or more times a week. Someone who plays once a month and restrings his racquet every other year shouldn't be overly concerned. Aggressive baseliners who blast the ball and players who hit with a lot of spin may need to update more often.

The weight of your second racket should be slightly heavier than your first. Since you have already acquired the basic techniques, you can now focus more on power, spin, and depth. Heavier rackets generally provide more stability and power.

If you want to have the same feel and consistency between racquets when switching, it's recommended to have 3. This way you can switch between racquets and wear the strings evenly without worrying about breaking all the racquets in the same match. It's also nice to play on fresh/dry grips while you rotate.
