In announcing his death at the Anchorage jail, authorities disclosed to news media Sunday that they believe Keyes is a serial killer and are certain he killed a Vermont couple, William and Lorraine Currier, who disappeared in June 2011. He also is suspected in four deaths in Washington state and one in New York, Mary Rook, the FBI special agent in charge of the Anchorage office, said. Hey, good luck with that eternal damnation thing ;-) Feeling sorry for his friends and family; this is really [bleep] for them. On the other hand, this saves a ton of public funds too (public defenders, court fees, prosecutor's time, jail time, death row, execution). Maybe on the order of hundreds of thousands of dollars I work harder than a ugly stripper.... |

I would hate to think that they missed an opportunity to get more info, and I certainly hope those sessions were video taped! BTW, good riddance to him. One less monster on the streets. I guess that depends on the individual. For the families, I certainly hope they are relieved and at peace. The only downside I can see is that there is no more information to be gotten from him. Keyes being dead is far better than the cost of a trial and incarceration, IMO. He did we "taxpayers" a service at the end. Also, since he admitted to killing Samantha Koenig who is the same age as my daughter, and as Alaska does not have a death penalty, and short of having the opportunity to administer justice oneself, this is the best outcome.
